Mrs. Sylvia Woods

Services for Mrs. Sylvia Joanne Woods, 73, of Jefferson will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday August 5, 2012 at the Capt. Wm. Perry Chapel of Haggard Funeral Home with Dr. Bruce Tankersley officiating. Interment will follow in Oakwood Memorial Park. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, August 4th at Haggard Funeral Home.

Mrs. Woods was born September 5, 1938 in Harrison County, Texas and she passed away August 2, 2012 at her residence in Jefferson. She attended Jefferson public schools and Panola College. She retired from Thiokol Corp. She married Bobby Frank Woods in Karnack in 1975. She was a Methodist and attended Lassater Southern Methodist Church.

She is survived by her husband, Bobby Woods; three sons, Jimmy L. Rogers, Jr. and wife Cindy of Marshall, Bobby Walter Woods and wife, Haley of Longview, and David Woods of Hallsville; one brother, Tommy Ellison and wife, Susan of Longview; grandchildren, Justin, Ally and Trey Rogers of Marshall, Austin Sandefur of Avinger, Kyle Woods of Verona, New York, Kurtis Woods of Hallsville, and Crusso Woods of Longview; Brothers-in-law, Johnny Woods of Houston and Jim McDaniel of Marshall; her special cousin, Ricky and wife Glenda of Tatum; her niece Toni Leigh Wolverton and husband, Mel of Jefferson; nephew Linc Ellison of Jefferson; and great-granddaughter, Kara Michelle Woods.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph Towle and Pauline Scoggins Towle Ellison, her step-father Ray Ellison, and her brother, Tim Ellison.

Pallbearers will be David McLendon, Blake McLendon, Austin Sandefur, Doyle Wright, Mel Wolverton and Mark Glover.

Honorary Pallbearers are Paul Williams, Don Watson and Kenny Mayfield.

Memorials may be made to Scout Troup #555 in Jefferson.
