Celebration services for Mrs. Juanita Dean of Avinger, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 2, 2013 at Mims Chapel United Methodist Church,with Rev. Gail Harrelson officiating, under the direction of Haggard Funeral Home of Jefferson.

Mrs. Dean was born November 28, 1933 in Gorman, Texas to Leeroy and Zera Boykin Buchanan. She was a member of the Mims Chapel United Methodist Church, past president and past secretary of the Jefferson Rotary Club, Paul Harris Fellow, past president of the United Methodist Women, past president and treasurer of the Ladies auxillary of the Mims Chapel Volunteer Fire Department. She worked for a number of years in the public school cafeteria. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband, Mr. William Morgan Dean, 2 brothers and one sister. Mrs. Dean passed away February 11, 2013 in Shreveport, Louisiana.

Survivors include, her daughters, Linda Markham and husband Ron of Avinger, Texas and Debbie Wise and husband Doug of Athens, brothers, Fred Buchanan and wife Anita of Doublin, Texas and Bill Buchanan and wife Mary of Birmingham, Alabama, sister, Minnie Hamilton and husband David of Perrin, Texas, 3 grandchildren, Josh Wise, Crystal White and Heather Tessin, and 3 great grandchildren.
